Objective
The objective of the Left Center Right LCR Card Game is to be the last player with chips.
Setup
- Setup the deck for the game. If you are playing with 5 or more players you should use all 110 cards. If there are only three or four players though, you will only use 55 of the cards in the following distribution:
- 12 L cards
- 12 C cards
- 12 R cards
- 19 Dot cards
- Shuffle all of the cards and place them face down in a pile on the table.
- Choose a player to start the game.
How to Play Left Center Right LCR Card Game
To start each turn the current player looks at how many chips they currently have. The number of chips the player has determines how many cards they will draw.
- 0 Chips – Your turn immediately ends.
- 1 Chip – Flip over one card.
- 2 Chips – Flip over two cards.
- 3+ Chips – Flip over three cards.
You will take the corresponding number of cards from the draw pile and flip them over. What is on the cards you flip over determines what you will do with your chips on your turn.
For each L card you flip over, you will pass one of your chips to the player on your left.
You will pass one of your chips to the player on your right for each R card you flip over.
Each C card you flip over, forces you to place one of your chips into the center pot.
Dot cards are safe. You will not have to pass any chips for each Dot card you flip over.
After you have finished dealing with the cards you flipped over, you will discard the cards. Play then passes to the next player.
Winning the Game
The players will keep taking turns flipping over cards and passing chips. Should the draw pile ever run out of cards, you will shuffle the discard pile to form another draw pile.
The game ends when only one player has chips. The last player with chips wins the game. They score points equal to the number of chips in the center pot.
