How to Play Build Or Boom

To begin each round draw one of the cards and place it in the card holder. It should be placed so both players can see one side of the card. The players will count down from three, and then both players will start playing at the same time. There are no turns in the game. Each player tries to build the structure shown on the card as quickly as possible.

Blueprint card
This round the players will try to build this structure.

You will take the corresponding blocks from the center of the table and place them to match the picture on the card.

Placing blocks
This player has begun their structure by placing the first two blocks shown on the blueprint card.

When you have completed the structure, you will race to smash the boomer that is next to you. This should send the blocks on the other player’s building platformer flying.

A player completing the structure
This player has completed the structure so they are going to want to hit the boomer as quickly as possible to destroy the other player’s structure.

Both players verify that the player who pressed the boomer correctly created the structure. If they correctly matched the blueprint, they will take the blueprint card. It is worth a point at the end of the game. The rules don’t specify what happens if you press the boomer, but you did not recreate the blueprint correctly.

Correctly building the structure
This player has successfully recreated the structure from the blueprint card. They will get to keep the card since they successfully recreated the structure.

To setup the next round you will return all of the blocks to the middle of the table.

Winning the Game

The first player to earn ten cards, wins the game.

Winning Build or Boom
This player has acquired ten Blueprint cards so they have won the game.
