Number cards

Numbers

Number cards have no special action associated with them. You can only play a number card if it matches the number or color of the top card on the Discard Pile.

Numbers 1-4 have the special bat signal symbol on them. This symbol is used by the Wild Bat Signal card.

Draw Two card

Draw Two

When you play the Draw Two card, the next player in turn order has to draw two cards. They also lose their turn.

You can play a Draw Two card on top of another Draw Two card, or on a card that matches its color. Should a Draw Two card be played against you, you cannot play your own Draw Two to avoid drawing cards and passing the penalty onto another player.

Reverse card

Reverse

The Reverse card changes the direction of play. If play was moving clockwise/left, it will now move counter-clockwise/right. Should play be moving counter-clockwise, it will now move clockwise.

You can play a Reverse card on top of another Reverse card, or a card that matches its color.

Skip card

Skip

When you play a Skip card, the next player in turn order loses their turn.

You can play a Skip card on top of another Skip card, or a card that matches its color. If a Skip card is played against you, you cannot play your own Skip card to avoid losing your turn.

Wild card

Wild

The Wild card matches every other card in the game. Therefore you can play it at any time even if you have another card that you can play.

When you play the Wild card you get to choose the color for the Discard Pile. You can choose any of the four colors.

Wild Bat Signal card from UNO Batman 2024

Wild Bat Signal

When you play the Wild Bat Signal card the next player in turn order has to start drawing cards from the Draw Pile. They will keep drawing cards until they draw a card that has the bat signal on it. The cards with the signal feature Batman, Robin, Batgirl, and Nightwing (numbers 1-4). Once the player draws a card with the signal, they show it to the other players to verify that they can stop drawing cards. Any cards the player ended up drawing are added to their hand.

Playing a Wild Bat Signal card
A Wild Bat Signal card was played. The next player in turn order had to keep drawing cards until they drew one with a bat signal on it. The player ended up having to draw five cards. They will add all five cards to their hand.

The Wild Bat Signal card is wild so it can be played at any time. By playing the card you also get to choose the color for the Discard Pile.

Wild Draw Four card

Wild Draw Four

The Wild Draw Four card is wild so it matches every other card in the game. There is a limitation on when you can play the card though. You cannot play the card if you have a card in your hand that matches the color of the Discard Pile. Wild cards count as matching the color. You can play the Wild Draw Four card if you only have cards that match the number or symbol.

When you play the card you get to choose the color of the Discard Pile. Whatever color you choose has no impact on any potential challenge.

Once you play the card, the next player in turn order has a decision to make. First they can accept the card. In this case they will draw four cards and they will lose their turn.

Playing a Wild Draw Four card
The previous player played a Wild Draw Four card on top of a green seven. The next player either has to draw four cards and lose their turn, or they have to challenge the card.

Challenging the Card

Otherwise the next player could choose to challenge the play of the card. If they decide to challenge they will look at the hand of the player that played the Wild Draw Four. They will check their hand to see if they have any cards that match the color of the Discard Pile from before the Wild Draw Four was played.

If the challenger does not find any cards that matched the Discard Pile’s color from before the card was played, they failed in their challenge. They will now have to draw six cards, and they lose their turn.

Playing a Wild Draw Four correctly
The player who played the Wild Draw Four did not have any green cards in their hand. Since they played the card correctly, the challenger now has to draw six cards.

Should they find a matching color card, they succeeded in their challenge. The player who played the Wild Draw Four now has to draw the four cards. The challenger draws no cards and they don’t lose their turn.

Playing a Wild Draw Four incorrectly
The player that played the Wild Draw Four did have a green one in their hand. Therefore they played the card incorrectly. They will have to draw the four cards instead of the challenger.
